Abstract Security Inc. a locally owned company located in Knoxville has recently acquired Huntsville Alarm Company, of Huntsville, Alabama. While some of the details of the acquisition are still being worked out, this news comes at a time when mergers and acquisitions seem to be gaining more momentum throughout the country.

Being a member of the General Electric, Security Pro Program has enabled Abstract Security to quickly grow into a regional company. This is the second acquisition in as many years for Abstract Security. "We are growing at a phenomenal rate" said Robert Walters, President of Abstract Security, "and we are also looking for other small companies to acquire in the future."

"The expansion of our company is good news to the employees of both companies as well as the city of Huntsville", said Mr. Walters. "Huntsville, now has a local security company that can offer virtually all forms of security; everything from electronic, physical and virtual security." Mr. Walters anticipates a strong, steady growth now that the companies have combined their resources. "The reputation of Huntsville Alarm Company is what made this merger so attractive", added Mr. Walters. "So for this reason, we are planning on keeping the Huntsville Alarm Company name in that area."

"The best news about this acquisition is that no employees will be losing their jobs", said Bryan Butler, V.P. of Operations. "In fact, we will be significantly adding to our payroll" he said. Huntsville Alarm will now be able to offer the full product line currently sold by Abstract Security. "This means that more technicians, salespeople and customer care reps will be added to our staff" he said. Future expansion plans of Abstract Security include building a monitoring station in the greater Knoxville area as well as additional acquisitions.
